Introducing the MVHR (Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery)
Klimatronik Heat recovery ventilation (MHRV), sometimes called mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR), brings fresh air into the premises without letting the temperature escape.
How does it work?
The recuperator has two airflows running next to one another passing between the inside and the outside of a premise. One carries air from the outside whilst the other carries air from the inside. The clever bit is that the airstreams run through a device called a copper heat exchanger (a recuperator) that allows the outgoing air to pass most of its heat to the incoming air without the air streams mixing (called recuperation). The air from inside which is humid and warm gives up virtually most of its heat as it passes through the heat exchanger on its way out of the building. The outside air comes in and picks this heat up as it flows in. This is known as counterflow as the air flows pass each other in opposite directions. If the settings are set for cool air to come into the home, then the heat exchanger does not allow the heat from the indoor air to transfer its heat allowing cool fresh air from the outside to come inside. It is amazingly simple, reliable and efficient and is capable of recovering up to 96% of the heat when replacing stale humid air with fresh outdoor air.
What other features do Klimatronik recuperators have?
Klimaronik Ventilation with Heat Recover are a technology to reduce personal exposure and health risk from indoor air pollution. Klimatronik HRV units do not just clean up the air and allow for heat rocovery, they work as air quality monitors too.Klimatronik HRV comes equipped with built-in sensors that allow you to monitor multiple particles to keep your home healthy with fresh air. They have a digital control panel allowing you to keep track of air quality and increase or decrease the airflow all from the comfort of your smartphone.
Turn on auto mode, and Klimatronik Recuperators will automatically respond to the conditions of the property, filtering pollutants, balancing the humidity and CO2 levels and regulating the temperature accordingly. For a noiseless night of uninterrupted sleep, you can simply switch to night mode or using your smartphone set a schedule for night mode. Night mode reduces the energy consumption and noise for the recuperator ensuring efficient air flow in your sleep. The HRV unit has automatic anti-frost protection, which typically involves one of the blowers sucking extra warm out of the building while the blower that normally pulls air in from outside is temporarily switched off preventing the recuperator from freezing and malfunctioning in freezing weather. As well as reducing your risk of catching COVID-19, Klimatronik Recuperators also protect you against other air pollutants that can cause or worsen respiratory diseases and conditions such as: Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) a group of chemicals that come from a range of sources such as cigarette smoke, household paint and cleaning products; Radon is a radioactive gas that can accumulate in inside spaces; Provides a mold free environment.
